To start the power washer, first ensure that the fuel tank is filled with unleaded petrol and the oil level is adequate. Turn the fuel valve to the 'ON' position, set the choke to 'CLOSED' if the engine is cold, and pull the starter cord briskly. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the 'OPEN' position.
If the power washer won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and verify that the fuel valve is open. Also, inspect the air filter for clogs and ensure the choke is set correctly for starting.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and subsequently every 50 hours of operation or at least once a season. Always use SAE 10W-30 oil for optimal performance.
Use a detergent specifically designed for pressure washers. Avoid using bleach or any acidic or alkaline-based detergents as they can damage the machine.
To prevent overheating, avoid running the power washer for extended periods without using the trigger. Allow the machine to cool if it becomes excessively hot, and ensure the air vents are not obstructed.
Regularly check the oil level, clean or replace the air filter, inspect the spark plug, and ensure all hoses and connections are secure. Also, examine the high-pressure nozzle for clogs and clean it as necessary.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the exterior, and store the power washer in a dry, sheltered place. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Turn off the power washer and disconnect the nozzle. Use a small brush or a piece of wire to clear any debris from the nozzle. Rinse it with water before reattaching.
Ensure the water supply is adequate and the inlet hose is not kinked. Check for clogs in the nozzle and filter, and inspect the pump for any signs of damage. Adjust the pressure settings if necessary.
Ensure the fuel valve is turned off and the machine is cool. Secure the power washer upright in a stable position to prevent it from tipping. If transporting in a vehicle, use straps to secure it in place.
