To adjust the cutting depth, first unplug the saw for safety. Then, locate the depth adjustment lever on the side of the unit. Slide the lever to the desired depth setting, checking the scale for accuracy, and lock it in place.
Ensure the saw is unplugged. Press the spindle lock button to keep the blade from rotating. Use the provided wrench to loosen the blade bolt. Remove the bolt, washer, and the old blade. Place the new blade on the spindle, ensuring the teeth face the cutting direction, and reattach the washer and bolt. Tighten the bolt securely.
Regularly check and clean the blade guard and housing to prevent dust buildup. Lubricate the moving parts as recommended in the manual. Inspect the power cord for damage and replace if necessary. Periodically check the blade for sharpness and replace if dull.
Check that the saw is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet. Inspect the power cord for any damage. Verify that the safety switch is in the correct position. If the saw still does not start, it may require professional servicing.
Use a guide rail for straight cuts. Secure the workpiece and the guide rail properly. Align the saw's base plate with the guide rail and maintain steady pressure while cutting.
Clean the saw to remove any debris, and ensure it is dry to prevent rust. Store it in a dry, cool place, ideally in its original case or a dedicated storage bag, ensuring it is safe from impacts or falls.
Blade replacement frequency depends on usage and material being cut. Inspect the blade regularly for sharpness and wear. If you notice any chipping, dullness, or difficulty in cutting, it's time to replace the blade.
The Clarke CPS85 is primarily designed for wood cutting. To cut metal, ensure you have the appropriate metal cutting blade and adjust the settings accordingly. Always follow safety precautions when cutting materials other than wood.
Always wear safety goggles and ear protection. Ensure the work area is clean and free of obstructions. Keep hands away from the blade during operation and always use the safety guard. Disconnect the power when changing blades or making adjustments.
To minimize tear-out, use a sharp, high-quality blade suitable for the material. Apply masking tape along the cut line or use a sacrificial backing board beneath the workpiece. Cut slowly and steadily to reduce splintering.
