The Clarke 3402046 is designed to handle logs up to 520mm in length and 250mm in diameter. It is suitable for splitting seasoned hardwood and softwood logs.
Ensure the Log Buster is placed on a stable, level surface. Check that all components are securely assembled and that the hydraulic system is not leaking.
Always wear safety goggles and gloves. Keep bystanders, especially children, away from the work area. Never place your hands near the log while it is being split.
Check the hydraulic fluid level and top up if necessary. Ensure the log is within the size limits and is positioned correctly. Inspect for any visible obstructions or damage.
Regularly check and tighten any loose bolts and nuts. Inspect the hydraulic system for leaks and ensure the fluid is at the correct level. Lubricate moving parts as recommended in the user manual.
Store the Log Buster in a dry place to prevent rust. Cover it with a tarp or protective cover to keep dust and moisture away. Ensure it is not exposed to extreme temperatures.
Refer to the user manual for instructions on wedge alignment. Generally, you may need to loosen the securing bolts, adjust the wedge, and retighten the bolts.
It is not recommended to use the Log Buster on frozen logs or materials other than wood, as this may damage the machine or reduce its effectiveness.
Check for any debris or blockages around the pedal mechanism. Lubricate the pedal joints with machine oil and ensure there is no damage to the linkage.
The hydraulic fluid should be checked regularly and replaced every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first, to ensure optimal performance.
