The SDM-AO4 module is designed to expand the analog output capability of a Campbell Scientific data logger, providing four independent analog voltage outputs for control applications.
The SDM-AO4 connects to a Campbell Scientific data logger using the SDI-12 or SDM interface. Ensure that the wiring is correct as per the user manual to prevent damage or incorrect operation.
The SDM-AO4 requires a 12 V DC power supply with a consumption of approximately 25 mA. It's important to ensure a stable power source for accurate performance.
Check the power supply, wiring, and configuration settings in the data logger. Ensure that the SDM address is correctly set and that the module is properly programmed to generate the desired output voltages.
The SDM-AO4 can output voltages in the range of -5 V to +5 V, which can be used for various control applications requiring precise voltage levels.
It is recommended to calibrate the SDM-AO4 annually or whenever there is a noticeable drift in output accuracy. Calibration should be performed by qualified personnel using precise instrumentation.
The SDM-AO4 is not weatherproof and should be housed in a suitable enclosure for outdoor use to protect it from moisture and extreme temperatures.
The SDM-AO4 is capable of driving resistive and capacitive loads. It is not suitable for driving inductive loads unless a proper buffer is used to protect the module.
To reset the SDM-AO4, cycle the power to the module by disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply. Ensure that all settings are reconfigured after a reset.
Check all connections and the integrity of the power supply. Verify that the data logger is correctly communicating with the module and that the SDI-12 or SDM settings are configured properly.
