To connect the ES20 speakers to your amplifier, use high-quality speaker cables. Connect the positive terminal on the speaker to the positive terminal on the amplifier and do the same for the negative terminals. Ensure both connections are secure to avoid any audio issues.
Place the ES20 speakers around 6-10 feet apart and at least 1-2 feet away from walls. Angle them slightly towards the listening position to create a stereo image and ensure that the tweeters are roughly at ear level.
To clean the ES20 speakers, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using any cleaning agents directly on the speaker. Regularly check the speaker terminals for dust and ensure the speaker cones are free from obstructions.
First, check all cable connections between the speaker and the amplifier. Ensure the amplifier is powered on and set to the correct input source. Test the speakers with a different set of cables or amplifier to isolate the issue.
The ES20 speakers are designed for indoor use. If you plan to use them outdoors, ensure they are protected from direct exposure to moisture and extreme temperatures to avoid damage.
To bi-wire the ES20 speakers, remove the metal links connecting the two pairs of binding posts. Use two separate cables for each speaker, connecting one pair of cables to the high-frequency terminals and another to the low-frequency terminals on the amplifier.
The Cambridge Audio ES20 speakers are compatible with amplifiers rated from 25 to 100 watts per channel. Using an amplifier within this range ensures optimal performance without risking damage to the speakers.
The ES20 speakers do not have built-in tone controls. Any adjustments to bass and treble should be made using the tone control settings on your amplifier or audio source.
Distorted sound may be due to overdriving the speakers or a faulty connection. Check the speaker wires for any damage and ensure all connections are secure. Also, make sure the amplifier is not set to a volume level beyond the speaker's handling capacity.
The ES20 speakers are not specifically designed for wall mounting. However, if wall mounting is necessary, use appropriate wall brackets and ensure they can support the weight of the speakers securely.
